The search is on for helping hands and warm smiles in Children’s Ministry!  Come rock the babies, or play with our Kindergartners!  Many opportunities to choose from. Nursery Team

Small Group Leaders
Seeking volunteers to consistently lead a small group of kids at a particular weekend service or during our midweek program on Wednesday nights. Small group time includes provided activities that reinforce the Large Group teaching, as well as “hang out” time to build relationships (training provided).

“Buddy” for Special Needs Child
PromiseLand has several children who need one-on-one care in order to successfully be in a large classroom setting on the weekend or during our midweek program on Wednesday nights. A “Buddy” is assigned to one particular child with Autism or other special need and shadows them during the service or program (training provided).

Weekly Small Group Leaders
Leaders are needed at all of our weekend services to help facilitate small groups that encourage kids to dig deeper into the message while also building relationships through fun activities and hang out time. Small groups are gender-specific so we need both male and female leaders but especially need men right now.

Mentors for GPS Discipleship Program
GPS stands for “God Pursuing Students” and is a program designed to help Jr. Highers mature into committed disciples of Jesus Christ. It is a weekly, one-on-one meeting for one hour with an adult mentor that walks them through Greg Ogden’s Discipleship Essentials.

Welcome Team at Guest Central
Welcome Team volunteers are needed to help at Guest Central after a service twice a month. Help welcome people, answer questions and connect people with resources and info about our church. This is a low-commitment, high-impact ministry!

Home Group Facilitators & Hosts

Big Brothers Big Sisters - Man UP California

YoungLife Capernaum

This branch of YoungLife works with teens with disabilities through bi-weekly club, camp, and relationships with volunteer leaders who help them grow in their faith. . Current need: Volunteers for every other Tuesday evening for our North County Capernaum group. We need what we call “Buddies” who come to club every other week on Tuesday nights from 6pm-7:30pm just down the street at Daybreak Church. Buddies help us by hanging out with kids at club and assist them in playing games and participating in activities. Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Team

The Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team is an all-volunteer unit. They perform wilderness and urban rescues and search for missing and at-risk people. The teams are available 24 hours a day to respond to local, state and federal agency requests. They also need volunteers in support roles (admin, field kitchen, etc). Bread of Life Rescue Mission

Bread of Life relies on a large and diverse group of volunteers. Opportunities to serve are as varied as the gifts, talents and skills of caring people. Canine Companions for Independence

CC trains four types of assistance dogs:  Service Dogs, Hearing Dogs, Facility Dogs, and Skilled Companions.  Volunteer to raise a puppy or volunteer time at a regional center. Out and About Transportation Program

Volunteer to provide free door-to-door transportation for homebound seniors for routine tasks such as grocery shopping and doctor appointments as well as social are recreational activities like visiting the YMCA.  Requirements: a few hours of free time per week, a current driver’s license and a good DMV record. City of Carlsbad Trail Volunteers

Volunteers make an essential contribution to maintaining Carlsbad’s trail system. Join these dedicated volunteers on the second Saturday of every month at one of the city’s trails to stop erosion, lay gravel, clip brush or whatever is needed to keep the trails in top condition.  Those who regularly walk a specific trail can consider becoming trail captains. The volunteer position entails learning who to contact to correct trail problems and taking on responsibilities for keeping that trail well-maintained.  Website to check calendar and more details.

Tents, Sleeping Bags, and Blankets

Help StandUp for Kids Oceanside provide for homeless teens with good condition and clean tents (one or two man), sleeping bags, and blankets. Donations can be brought to the church office (attn: Terri) or left at the Caring Ministry table on weekends.

Backpacks and School Supplies

Donate: Pregnancy Resource Center has over 60 clients a week coming through the center that are in need of baby clothes, diapers, food and baby furniture. They are given out for the Earn While You Learn parenting classes for the first 24 months of their babies lives and . Especially in need of baby diapers sizes 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6’s, and baby clothes up to 24 months old for boy’s and girls, new or gently used.

NIV Study Bibles for South Sudan Discipleship Training School

Recycle Your Old Cell Phones and Toner/Copier Cartridges

YoungLife and San Diego Lost Boys of Sudan are partnering to collect these items that, when recycled, provide funds for school supplies and other needs. Stand Up for Kids:  an outreach to homeless teens in Oceanside

Urgently Needed: Two-man or kid tents, sleeping bags, and backpacks needed. Need to be clean and in good condition - help the youth by checking for extras in your garage, attic or kids’ rooms (or at a good sale!)  We collect donated items at the Caring Ministry Table after church services or at Terri’s cubicle in the church office.  Also opportunities to provide meals for them.
